From everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children. Psalm 103:17

One of the greatest contributions you can make to the mission of the Church is to ensure a legacy of faith for future generations. A great way to do this is through a bequest. A bequest is a monetary gift left in a will that can be a lasting expression of your faith, gratitude and thanksgiving towards God.

It’s certainly right and proper that we make provision in our will for our loved ones. It is also a wonderful opportunity to support the mission and ministry of LifeWay now and into the future – building on the work of those who have preceded us and joining hands with the many more who will grow to know and love this community of faith in the 21st century and beyond.

If this Church has been an important part of your life, we encourage you to leave a legacy that will make a difference for those who will be touched by the transforming grace of Jesus Christ and the work of LifeWay well into the future.

Thank you for your generosity and for helping us continue to joyfully and abundantly live out our mission - living Jesus’ love, sharing his hope with all, growing in grace together – not only today but also tomorrow.

If you are about to make your Will, and would like to include a gift for LifeWay Lutheran Church, the appropriate wording is:

“I ________________________________ (your name) give and bequeath free of all duties, debts or taxes, __________________________________________ (Insert sum of money, residue of estate, % of estate, or property/shares/item) to LifeWay Lutheran Church (ABN 86 968 033 005) to support the ongoing mission and ministry thereof, and I declare that the receipt of an authorised officer shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my trustee/s for such a bequest.”

If you already have a Will you simply need to add a codicil at the end. The appropriate wording is:

“This codicil dated _____ is an addition to the Will of me, (full name). Other provisions contained in my Will are confirmed. I give, devise and bequeath LifeWay Lutheran Church (ABN 86 968 033 005) __________ ________________________________ (Insert sum of money, residue of estate, % of estate, or property/ shares/item) for the ongoing mission and ministry thereof, and I declare that the receipt of an authorised officer shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my trustee/s for such a bequest.”

Wills and codicils must be dated, signed, properly witnessed and thoughtfully stored.
