Mission

All of us are gifted! Sharing his hope with all is simply about you being you and using your God given gifts to serve others.

Whether it’s helping in children’s ministry or greeting visitors, serving coffee after service, playing a musical instrument, or going on a mission trip, there are plenty of opportunities to share the hope and love of Jesus with others. If you’re not sure what the best fit for you is, or how you can serve, then contact us and one of the staff will sit down with you and discover what you are passionate about and help you find an area to serve in. Or simply ‘have a go’ and find that ministry that fills you with the greatest joy!

'Each of you has been blessed with one of God’s wonderful gifts to be used in the service of others. So use your gift well.' 1 Peter 4:10

The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love…

The entire law is summed up in a single command: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.' Galations 5:6b,14

At LifeWay, our overseas mission are conducted in partnership with LCA International Mission (www.lcamission.org.au).

Since 2016 our focus shifted from Thailand to Cambodia, at the request of the LCA International Mission department, where we will partner long term with the Lutheran Church Cambodia.

Want to be involved in Mission but don't want to leave Sydney?

Join a Mystery Mission team and serve those within the community who are struggling in their life's journey. How will you serve? It's a mystery ... the project remains a secret until the week before the service project begins.

Our last Mystery Mission involved two teams that shared Jesus’ love through serving families staying at Ronald McDonald House (RMH). Our teams had the task of preparing meals for up to 70 people! These families are living through the ordeal of a very sick little boy or girl in the Westmead Children’s Hospital.

Contact the office if you are interested in being part of a future team.

Since 2009 we have taken teams of people to work with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Thailand, to support their ministry. We have served among the Lua people in the Nan province in North Eastern Thailand, and more recently, in the slums of Klong Toey in Bangkok, where we have worked in a Women’s Shelter (Home of Grace), a Day Care Centre (Home of Praise), and a Kindergarten that is attached to the Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Since 2016 our focus has shifted to Cambodia, at the request of the LCA International Mission department, where we will partner long term with the Lutheran Church Cambodia.

13.3% of our community live in poverty. This means that some of our friends and neighbours are experiencing hardship and struggle to meet the financial demands of everyday life, including putting food on the table.

CCA Eastwood serves and supports vulnerable community members in need. LifeWay Epping is committed to supporting those in need in our community. Please help CCA to fill their food cupboards with basic food and toiletry items to give to those in need. Bring along your donations and place in the basket in the church foyer.

KidsWay

Here at LifeWay, we believe that children are a precious gift from God and we’d love to have your family join us as we work together to nurture a life-long faith in the young lives God has entrusted to us.

We believe that the primary place of nurturing children’s faith happens in the home. That’s where we start too, providing tools like the Living Out Loud to help you grow during the week with your children and engage them in faith conversation. The next best place to build a living dynamic faith in our children is through worshipping together across the generations.

- That’s why we don’t mind a little noise or restlessness! We just love having children actively participate in worship.

- When our kids don’t worship with us, they are highly likely to walk away from Christ and his Church once they reach University age (estimates run from 50-90%!).

- If young people are included as important members of the Body of Christ from childhood on, they are more likely to follow Jesus as adults and that is what we want to see here at LifeWay…disciples of all ages living fully, sharing boldly and growing purposefully in the life transforming grace of Jesus.

- What’s more, having kids in worship teaches us as adults what it is like to have child-like faith. Some of their comments during Kids Talk in worship is both profound and priceless.

To enhance what you as parents do we run a 30 minute session on Sundays (during school terms) for Kindergarten through Primary School age children.

At KidsWay, the children have a special time to help them grow in their relationship with Jesus that is designed just for them.

It’s our joy to partner with you in equipping young disciples who are living, sharing and growing!
