ISAIAH 53:6.

We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Modern cars, with their inbuilt GPS units make driving so much easier. In my car, I can use that one, or plug in my phone and use the google maps that are on there. But here's the thing. Sometimes, they have me going in two different directions and when I don't like where one is telling me to go, I ignore them (must to their disgust - turn around where possible) and follow the other voice. Blindly listening to the GPS has at times led me astray and it's easy to blame the device for where I end up. The truth is, you and I, who are loved by the Lord and part of his family, can still go astray. We can wander off, listen to the wrong voices, and get ourselves into trouble. There are times when we think we can do life on our own and in our strength and it gets us into trouble. God knows that. That's why he sent his Son to pay the price for our sin, to carry that sin to the cross, to bring us back into the fold where we are safe and secure. If you are wandering away today...if you have gone astray with your life, just cry out for the Good Shepherd. He will find you and bring you home. He's paid the price, so you don't have to.

Lord, sometimes I feel so dumb. I make stupid decisions which lead me astray and my pride prevents me from acknowledging my mistakes and sin. Forgive me and bring me back to you. Amen.
